These minutes are very brief - who asked what on which new matters? Frank is still hiding behind his legal beagle$ on queries about Jimmy and Mary's land, and the Boy School magic number 716,858 is holding steady.
This is more flogging of a defunct public agency, and adding another voting member for the Y'mouth area tips the scales even further in favour of Shelb. Co. forming their own RDA/RDAs.
Frank's deep involvement in YAIC has created the current problems with SWSDA - an old 2002 Hansard (Frank, Whiting, Mayor Comeau and Hurlburt attended this Committee Mtg.) shows Parker expressed his frustration with Frank's YAIC bias back then.
Think about it - we've got a deep, natural harbour and a nonfunctioning/nonfunded Industrial Commission, while YAIC's silt filled harbour has gorged on the good$ - go figure.
Who knows the status of the $4.6 million the feds gave Y'mouth when the town took over control of their 3 wharves (to be invested in "AA minus bonds/or better" and was to be spent within ten years)? Remember, Shelburne received takeover funds of 435K and Parker fought for more with no success.

What's it going to take for this area to wake up? Vocal dissent from business leaders and our local pols would be a start. Their self-satisfaction shines in their silence! We'll soon be referring to Delaney and Embree as Sleepy and Dopey.
We'll be thinking of you during the next week Ed, and hope your trip to Hfx. is a smoother one this time! (All the best from the morning crew)

Re: PC Leadership "...all options open... I feel I have a personal touch with the people." - Richard Hurlburt (Tina Comeau/Vanguard 30/06/09)

Yes Richie, you "had" the Midas touch and did so much for Frank Anderson and YAIC - LOL. So much for rebuilding the old party if this transpires. - "c"fromshelburne

Sleepy and Dopey are too quiet to be any help in creating progress......

SHELBURNE mayor ,especially, was so aggressive as a councillor but once he ousted Parker seems now to be playing his cards differently.

Ed,hope all is well after your hsptl stay!!!!!!!

It's difficult to form questions from the minutes as information is as scarce as hens teeth. It will be interesting to see how our elected officials react. I do not think that they grasp the gravity of the situation.CEO's usually don't get flushed down the drain without taking others with them especially when these others allowed the situation to take place.Right now our elected officials are as tight as cold clams.Shelburnes Mayor Delaney is running scared but he should'nt he has a cushion........his lackeys that doze on SWSDA.It is not difficult seeing some cub reporter earning his hooks opening this can of worms to public view.
