Additions To Blog

-------- Your tax dollars at work ---------

You may have noticed some additions to this blog today. On the left hand side of the blog there is now a clickable link to two other blogs (one is a new blog called Shelburne Development that I am launching today ) and Timothy Gillespie's ever- popular and recently resuscitated Shelburne County Today. Adding this makes it easier for readers to move from one to the other.

I have also added a survey question tool that you can monitor as folks vote.... should be interesting.

Hope you enjoy it.

This is going be an interesting period in the county. There was a shortage of business leaders at the "meet and greet" last Friday. Surely there are a few Chamber of Commerce members who have some feasible ideas in regards to a new RDA. Pepper is nominated as the Citizen Committee's mascot - we need lotsa luck!!!

If anyone knows what the Chamber of Commerce really does besides........Please enlighten us
plain folks.

Just read the summary of the ICSP draft. I'll give credit to what appears to be a good job by Ms. Tipton and like everyone I want clean air and water, but if the environment zealots have their way I see a very slim chance of natural resource development. As for climate change (once known as global warming until the Goracles realized it wasn't warming) earth's climate fluctuated long before the industrial revolution. I'll get to the full ICSP draft when I clear my craw of this sticking point.

We know the Chamber of Commerce had an SWSDA nonvoting observer.
If you go to their website it states "We are committed to an involvement with local and regional levels of government, which allows us, when required, to lobby municipal, provincial and federal governments on issues which affect our members and the community at large." They've been very quiet over the years, especially in light of the recent Irving layoffs. -S.Fry

Mr. Cayer, Thanks to MDS I have a copy of Ms. Tipton's ICSP draft and have read its contents.
Today I'm focusing on para. 2 of the ICSP Introduction.
If Ms. Tipton is an advocate of Maurice Strong and Prince Philip's WWF and Paul Ehrlich's GFN she recognizes with our declining population and lack of industry, we have done our part in reducing the world's population.
"In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, in order to contribute something to solve over population." - Prince Philip, Founder WWF, Deutsche Press-Agentur 1988
Until we recognize that being a Lindesfarne model sustainable community is not realistic, there will be no economic development in Shelburne Co. The bottom has dropped out of the solar panel market and the avg. wind turbine stands 400' with blades larger than the wing span of a 747. So much for manufacturing solar panels in the area and the NIMBY howls will guarantee our shores will remain windmill free.

Great research has been done by S.Fry and hope those earning big wages(strummed up easily) have done their studies from past to deal with their projects for future.
Too many shove their poorly studied ideas at our local politicians who are struggling to do basic governing chores for our town.Don't hide behind detailed credentials because self taught people have done more to fix the problems on our planet. Those who can make a difference keep working !!!!!!!!BEST WISHES !

SEPT.4TH....10:44 Deserves credit for sharing the views of such known individuals that makes me cringe with the horrible thoughts ,especially by.... Pr...Philip who I ALWAYS FOUND CREEPY as he lurked behind his family!

Keep these challenging viewpoints in print.

I sympathize with councils that face the bureaucracy in obtaining funds, i.e. mandatory ICSPs. We want action from ERD on SWSDA yesterday. When folks learn of the billion$ wasted under the guise of "saving our planet" maybe they'll begin to take time to speak out on what they want or don't want to see in regards to development in Shelb. Co.

The stated poor condition of Shelburne Marines slipway is interesting. If all these people have worked there for years why hasn't flags been raised? It would almost seem planned retirement of the site.It would seem a little late for finger pointing. The time has come to unite and regainour place in the sun.
