SWSDA Re-trenching?!?
Just got the news that SWSDA has cancelled today's Board meeting and re-scheduled it for some time next week. Excuse for meeting delay is so that they could get financial statements ready for year end..... (;-) Funny.... last year Mr. Anderson waited until mid-August when no one was around to present financial statements. He also took the opportunity to pass resolutions to amend the bylaws during the depth of summer.....
Its a shame to have this unecessary delay since the present bylaws require him to present his financials only in a month from now.....Wait a minute..... do you think he needs the extra time to come up with amended numbers for the Boys School Expenses?!?
First they moved a planned meeting in Barrington to Yarmouth, then passed a resolution to hold all future meetings in Yarmouth in the name of economy .... now they've cancelled this week's meeting.... just when folks were getting ready to ask questions!

Darn, and here I thought we might get a solid question and answer session between Frank and the board today. He is just delaying the inevitable me thinks... But, on the other hand Frank can't cancel the meeting without the approval of the board can he? Oh, I forgot, he's got his quorum without Shelburne Co. board members doesn't he? Ya gotta face them sometime Frank!

I've been thinking, you don't suppose that Richie Rich Hurlburt can't afford the negative publicity which may have leaked out of today's aborted meeting? I doubt if Rodney would like to see one of his safe seats in jeopardy, would he?
How events can change. Thanks Ed for highlighting these expense accounts. It throws a whole new light on a matter that has been circulating around the town for years.

You think Hurlburt's seat is safe? The people of this area can not possibly think he has done anything for us but allow our chances of prosperity to be squaundered. If the people in Yarmouth, Clare and Argyle have not been woken up yet, the will, when they see their property tax bills in the next couple of years. Did you know that in central Halifax they pay $00.83 cents per $100.00 dollars of assessment and here in Yarmouth we pay $1.85 per $100.00 of assessment?????
Your're right I just saw Richard, Frank, Greg, Clifford and Gerald marching down Water Street shovels on shoulders. Now they are either digging the moat or shoveling the bulls#*t from the doorways. This is what you would call a shovel-ready project.
