-------- Your tax dollars at work ---------

Dear Anon 8:25:

Interesting you should mention MOS lawyer.... I understand that one former Councillor indicated that MOS had been advised by one of MOS' lawyers that the Base was beneficially owned by MOS. When I asked the new CAO Mr. Cox ..... I was told that the MOS lawyer had advised MOS that they were not the beneficial owners of the base. Clear as mud isn't it?!?

Given the documentation I've seen.... and Mr. Cox's letter of July 13, 2009, if MOS was a beneficial owner of the base, I believe it was solely in its capacity as a member of the SWSDA and the benefical ownership was therefore shared by all the members of the SWSDA Board.... in my humble opinion.......

Thanks for the reply in regards to the MoS legal advice.
I've gone back to SCT and your archives and this should have been stopped when Nickerson and Scott were doing their dirty deeds behind closed doors. To think they figured they were doing such a fine job they were going to boost their salaries with the approval of a "few" of their peers to boot. I think the second term councillors have a bit of explaining to do, other than one's response that funding SWSDA is "like flushing money down the toilet." What's changed her tune?

You are doing the citizens of Shelburne Co. a great service Ed. Thanks!

11:48 Isn't the Internet great for reviewing what went on within our esteemed councils over the past 10+ years! They'll be remembered for eternity - may this be a lesson for our current crop of local politicians. Transparency in government involves communicating with the people and they are already ignoring this rule. Heaven help us if they continue on the same road their predecessors took.

We can't find who the municipality's lawyer was during that time, and who's the current lawyer. Is legal service tendered each year? We hope they've switched by now!
