FLASH !! FLASH !! FLASH !!

-------- Your tax dollars at work ---------

WANT ANSWERS ABOUT SWSDA?

NOW IS THE TIME TO ASK YOUR MUNICIPAL REPRESENTATIVES QUESTIONS!

NEXT SWSDA BOARD MEETING ON MAY 20TH...... SIX DAYS FROM TODAY.....

I invite you to post your questions here. Identify your representative on the SWSDA Board and publicize the questions you want him or her to ask at the next Board Meeting....... Post anonymously or provide your name..... the question is the important part!

In preperation for the SWSDA meeting I will provide a briefing on Saturday, Sunday and Monday about how the money from the Boys School has reportedly been spent by SWSDA.

I'm also taking guesses from readers about how much was first missing on June 27, 2007 when the Boys school was sold, on October 1, 2007 when the Fraudulent Preference lawsuit was launched by OPI. And.... finally, how much less there was available on March 31, 2008 when the Base was sold!

POST TODAY

Warden Embree, Is there cause to suspect the misappropriation of funds, and if so, did you consider the potential for management override of controls, or other inappropriate influence over SWSDA's financial reporting process? If so, why did you not voice your concerns?

Hypothetically of course, if fraud is the case, how will it affect the Municipality of Shelburne's finances, considering the "purported" debt we owe SWSDA? - Thank you, Shirley Fry 14/05/09

I would like to know who you answer to, the tax payers or CEO at SWSDA. You were elected by the tax payers. If you were not elected you would not be on the SWSDA board. So shouldn't you report back to the people who made it possible for you to be on the SWSDA board.

What goes on at SWSDA board meetings that is so secret. As a board member don't you have knowledge of the book keeping methods. Can't you insist on knowing about how tax payer money is used by SWSDA. Certainly the CEO is not trying to keep secrets from the board.

We the tax payer want to know. Why have both the old base and the old boys school sales been so poorly handled.

My one question is ???? Why didn't they just call a real estate broker ?

Sorry I am too chicken to sign my name

Questions Lonnie Townsend (Councilor,Town of Lockeport), Elizabeth Acker (Deputy Mayor, Town of Shelburne) and Sherm Embree (Warden, Muncipality of Shelburne should ALL be asking of SWSDA and Frank Anderson:

1.) Who is paying part of your salary and how much are they paying?

2.) For how long has this arrangement been in place?

3.) Why have you NEVER disclosed this to the Board of Directors?

4.) How much of your time is spent serving the needs of your other employer?

5.) Are ANY of the $25-50,000 in your yearly expenses directed to serving your other client(s).

6.) Is there more than one "other" client?

7.) Were any permissions sought and/or granted for the owners of the former base at Sandy Point to sell up to $2 million of the value of the land while SWSDA is still on the hook for a $1.75 million mortgage?

8.) Was ANY of the money collected in the ten lot sales directed to pay dwon the mortgage? If so, how much?

Warden Embree, Please ask Frank Anderson, CEO, the following questions:

Why have you threatened to close the Shelburne office of SWSDA?

Why do you prefer working under a veil of secrecy, while other RDAs encourage the full participation of their area's citizens?

Do you agree that this RDA should be disbanded, and two new RDAs be created to serve the Shelburne Co. area, and the Yarmouth Co./Clare area?

What is the full story between the "purported" debt between the Municipality of Shelburne and SWSDA?

Have you been advised by your legal advisor not to discuss any of these issues?

Thank you.
