Private Club Membership - Global Corenet

-------- Your tax dollars at work --------

Educating Our CEO!!

CoreNet Global is a career and relationship enhancing organization that purports to enable its members to excel as corporate real estate professionals. I have receipts that show we have paid for Mr. Anderson's membership for at least one year.

It is unclear how many years taxpayers have paid for Mr. Anderson's membership in Corenet Global or how many meetings of this organization he has attended. Our fearless CEO participated in two in 2005 - one in Toronto and the other in Las Vegas in 2005. Here's the Toronto one. More on the Las Vegas one in a future blog.

1. Membership Fees for May 2005 to April 2006 were $642.00

2. Airport Taxi Charges in Toronto include receipts for $25.00, $50.00, $55.00 and $20.00

3. Room Charges at The Fairmount Royal York @ $250.00 per night plus taxes as well as food and lounge charges from April 16, 2005 to April 20,2005 inclusive comes to $1,464.82.

4. A receipt for Jack Astor's Bar and Grill on April 20, 2005 totals $84.24 plus a handwritten tip for $15.00 and includes appetizers, 3 pizzas and 5 beers. There is no notation as to the purpose or who was being entertained at the airport at 6:38 PM.

5. An unidentified stub without a location, business name, date or purpose has the amount $35.00 written on it.

6. Included is a receipt for $100.00 that appears to be for a day trip to Niagara Falls as part of the Corenet Global program on April 17, 2005.

7. Also included is a bar receipt for 1 nacho, 5 bud, and a large Keiths for a total of $44.68 and a tip of $10.32 for a total of $55.00 at 3:27 PM on Apri 19, 2009.

8. A receipt for $38.00 for Airport Parking rounds out the trip expenses that we can identify.

A.) Total Identified Taxpayers Cost for Corenet Global Workshop in Toronto for Mr. Anderson Including Membership ........ $2,569.06
B.) Estimated airfare, mileage to Halifax and salary, overheads and benefits for Mr. Anderson .... $3,500.

Total Estimated Cost to Taxpayers this Trip +/- $6,000

Question: How did this real estate training program for Mr. Anderson contribute to his management of the care and sale of property on behalf of the municipalities he works for?

I swore I wouldn't post anything, but this is unreal. Frank flunked the course - no if, but, or and about it. Geez, he sold two properties (Base and School for Boys) at a loss, what more can one say about his real estate savvy.

To think he had the gall to spend $6,000 out of the SWSDA expense funds. Heck, a local realtor could have trained him cheaper than that, but without all the frills.

Oh yes, I do remember that piece of land he conned the Yarmouth Town Council into installing the pipeline on to the tune of $150,000. That of course was through Yarco and his partner in crime Hurlburt. Not too stupid are they?

This keeps getting murkier as you reveal his expense claims Ed. Unreal!

I would like to see a receipt showing an advertising expense for the old boys school and/or the old base. Were either of these properties advertised anywhere. Or was it a scam.

And what is it with the people who own but have not paid for the old base, they are selling land and devaluing the property. If you were buying land from a bank you would not be able to subdivide and sell off land without the banks approval.

I am an employee of the government of Nova Scotia and would like to comment on the following post:

This is Provincial Money - Office of the Auditor General of Nova Scotia Mr.Jacques Lapointe - lapoinjr@gov.ns.ca
This is Federal Money - Office of the Auditor General of Canada
Ms. Sheila Fraser - communications@oag-bvg.gc.ca
Send e-mails to both auditor generals and your mayors and wardens. Tell them what you think, I did.

Neal Conrad, Director of Community and Rural Development for Economic and Rural Development is listed as the person in charge of RDA programs.

Requests for funding from communities and organizations across the province are assessed by professional staff in the Department of Economic and Rural Development (ERD) using a set of criteria. The Department’s Minister reviews staff's recommendations and approves where appropriate.

The 13 Regional Development Authorities across the province, 11 field staff and nine ERD offices are vital to business growth and success in our rural communities. They are mandated to create and manage economic development and community projects that result in growth and prosperity for Nova Scotia.

Through Community and Rural Development, ERD also works closely with the Nova Scotia Association of Regional Development Authorities, Le Conseil de developpement economique de la Nouvelle Ecosse, the Black Business Initiative and the Nova Scotia Co-operative Council to help ensure economic growth and prosperity provincewide.

To: Employee of The Nova Scotia Government, and R. Hurlburt, MLA Yarmouth
Fr: Disgruntled Municipality of Shelburne Taxpayer

You have numerous success stories of development agencies across the province, but ours is a failure due to: (l) the area covered by this RDA is too large, (2) there is a distrust of the CEO and his dealings with Yarmouth MLA Richard Hurlburt, and (3) partisan politics has invaded the boardroom to the detriment of Shelburne Co

Considering the N.S. Auditor General has no jurisdiction over RDAs; and Murray Scott, Minister of ERD, is satisfied with yearly audits by an auditor who is not a registered municipal auditor, the alarm bells are ringing but ERD is ignoring them.

The sooner this RDA receives a forensic audit, the sooner Shelburne County can get back on track and concentrate on working towards a prosperous future.

Does all this make R. Hurlburt an honest man?

There is still time for an INDEPENDANT CANDIDATE to be nominated to run in the Provincial. I would vote for Cayer if he chooses to run. A lot of folks would donate time and effort to have him elected. Then he could speak out where it counts.cn

This issue on SWSDA alone should mean a shoo-in for either Mr. Cayer or Mr. Gillespie.

Doubt if they're interested - they have lots of irons in the fire at this time.

Too many people trying to talk about too many things they don't understand.

This blog is an eye opener for the people involved, but can in no way be a reflection of the management of SWSDA or tax dollars.

Anon 2:29pm - What exactly are you saying? -"This blog is an eye opener for the people involved, but can in no way be a reflection of the management of SWSDA or tax dollars."

Huh? This is an agency funded by three levels of government, and those are our tax dollar$ from all three levels! As for your, "...can in no way be a reflection of the management of SWSDA...", are you serious? Who else would be responsible but management?

Hopefully you will enlighten us on what you actually meant in your comments.
