In a world that often provides little to smile about, I got a letter yesterday from SWSDA that did just that when it announced that .....
Frank Anderson had been designated by Rod Rose "As the responsible officer..." for freedom of information and directed that all future FOIPOP requests be sent to Mr. Anderson's attention. Don't believe me.... see Mr. Anderson's letter above .... as usual.... click to enlarge....
For those who weren't paying attention.... my freedom of information request was for Rod Rose's travel expenses!

I can imagine your humour in Frank's reply - who'd have ever dreamt that one. You can see the SWSDA wagons circling now to protect their generals from the eyes of the unwashed public. So much for transparency and working for the good of the whole region they represent. They've had so many perks at our expense for so long, this exposure is going to be a bitter pill for them to swallow. The sooner the taxpayers of the region clue in on what has been happening for years the sooner this county will be able to get the show on the road and work for a better future without SWSDA.

I've got a feeling that SWSDA's Yarmouth office is going to have a visit from a provincial auditor within the next couple of months. For these few receipts to be viewed by so many folks in N.S. and elsewhere, it has become too hot an issue to ignore. If we are seeing just a few of 05/06, what's been wasted in the past 10+ years, and were all the funds directed to SWSDA projects? For Frank to be designated the "responsible officer" is definitely an oxymoron Ed - totally unreal.
